Leaded Stained Glass

Leaded stained glass is not a term that most people are familiar with, but this beautiful style just so happens to be one of our specialties here at Stained Glass San Antonio. Let us explain more. When most people think of stained glass, the first thing that comes to mind is the brightly colored kind. But when we create residential stained glass for peoples’ homes, they frequently want something a bit more elegant and low key in appearance. We design windows and doors for their homes that are made out of colorless glass, frequently mixed with beveled glass for texture and light effects. We refer to this colorless stained glass as leaded stained glass.

Got it? Here at Stained Glass San Antonio, we have created an entire collection of stunning (if we do say so ourselves) designs inspired by the glass in the incredible palaces of Europe as well as the glorious Victorian mansions built in New York and Chicago around the turn of the twentieth century. These windows are usually made with frosted or otherwise textured glass for a particular reason: our clients are not just looking for beauty, value, class, elegance, style, and distinctiveness. (Although you would think that would be more than enough!) Frequently, they are also looking for more privacy at the same time.

Greater privacy can be one of the reasons Stained Glass San Antonio is contacted to design and build entryway stained glass or bathroom stained glass. But these classic leaded stained glass styles are fabulous in any room of a home or office.

Stained Glass San Antonio would love to custom design windows or doors for your home. By the way, if you aren’t looking for more privacy but just want to adorn your home with gorgeous design, you might like leaded stained glass made with clear glass and beveled glass. This lets in maximum light, gives the window or door a phenomenally beautiful look, and of course will match with any color scheme. And when it comes to the style of leaded stained glass, it really can be anything you want from a Celtic knot to an Aspen tree.
