Why “SIG” (Seal in Glass) Windows Are a Great Choice for Adding Leaded Glass to Your San Antonio BathroomMartin Faith
If you’re thinking about doing some remodelling to your home to give it a more modern or updated look, SIG stained glass windows can be a great choice for your bathroom. SIG stained glass makes a beautiful addition to San Antonio homes, whether they’re contemporary in their architectural style or have a more vintage and historic look. And it also offers many practical benefits too like added safety and protection for your windows.
What is SIG stained glass?
If you haven’t heard of SIG stained glass before, don’t worry, you’re definitely not alone. “SIG” is actually an in house term that was created by our company. It refers to stained glass that has been specially sealed between two panes of glass. This is usually done to bathroom stained glass windows to make them more durable and moisture resistant.
How It’s Made
SIG glass is created very similarly to normal stained glass except that it requires a special process for the sealing. The stained glass is designed by an artist based off of the requests and needs of the homeowner. Then, the stained glass is constructed and assembled in house at our studio.
Once the stained glass panel has been created, the window is ready to be sealed. Two panes of normal glass are placed around the stained glass panel. Then the three separate pieces are sealed to create one unit. This also makes the window airtight to prevent moisture and water from being able to enter the glass.
People typically choose SIG glass because of its practicality. Not only is SIG glass water resistant, it’s also flat and therefore easier to clean. It can also be useful to have for windows that are more vulnerable to being broken by an accident or small children at play outdoors.
