Custom Stained Glass Project: St. Edward’s Church

We’re excited to announce the completion of our most recent custom church stained glass project for St. Edward’s. This Pennsylvania-based church was interested in creating a proper memorial piece for their recently passed pastor. They decided to replace the big window in their church that overlooked the main intersection so they could also conceal the street view during service. After contacting many studios a couple years ago, they decided to go with our studio for this project.

Custom Church Stained Glass Process for St. Edward’s

Due to the pandemic, we relied on technology for finalizing the design. The church had several iterations of the tree of life created. However, when our painted glass artist overheard Father Rick discussing how he’d like to create another stained glass piece one day showing Jesus on the Sea of Galilee because it was his favorite teaching from the Bible, she decided to give it a shot. We presented the new design and both the Father and church fell in love. We wanted to create a three-dimensional look so our artist achieved this through shading and painting. She also wanted to depict a variety of different people along with calm seas to symbolize the calm after the storm. Despite some installation challenges with the existing curtain wall, we were able to create a larger-than-life, continuous design for the window.
