Stained Glass Sidelights Let the Light Shine in San Antonio

Stained Glass sidelights can open up your San Antonio home’s entryway and give it more natural light. Some homes have entryways that are closed off and dark all the time. The front door might open into a cramped foyer or narrow hallway. And since we all seem to prefer as much natural light inside our homes as we can get, you might be wondering if there’s any solution.

One way to give these entryways more light is by installing stained glass sidelights. Sidelights are those narrow, non-opening windows that are usually installed to one or both sides of the front door, allowing more light to come in. But if they are just made of regular clear glass, like the rest of the windows in your home, they can compromise your privacy, allowing people at your front door to see into your home.

If you install stained glass sidelights, using frosted, colored, or textured glass, the light will shine through, warming up the dark spaces, but your privacy will be unimpaired.

What if you don’t have sidelights at all? Stained Glass San Antonio can install them for you, after first creating the stained glass panels in any design, style, and color combination you choose. You might also want to think about having a transom window installed too, if your home’s structure will allow it. This is the narrow window above a front door. Redoing your entire entryway with new stained glass sidelights and a matching transom above the door will not just change the amount of light inside your home.

It will also add great value to the home, and turn your entryway into a beautiful beacon of welcome to all who come up your front walk—most especially you and your family.

Stained Glass San Antonio does a lot of sidelights, in fact entryways are one of our most highly requested projects. After all, your entryway is the first thing people see when they come to your home. It should make a fantastic first impression, correct?
